Playing The Part

A documentary exploring a young actor’s quest for stardom whilst grappling with language, identity, self-realisation. The idea of this documentary was inspired by my own experiences on film sets that deal with or depict the ‘Middle East’, which I found both paradoxical and entertaining at the same time. Playing The Part is an attempt to understand what representation, belonging and otherness mean whilst one is also playing a part in the machine that is the film industry.
